Video Confirms Green Day Working With Butch Vig On New Album

Confirming what Garbage’s Shirley Manson let slip last week, Green Day posted a video proving they are in the studio working with producer Butch Vig. In the above clip, which was posted on Green Day’s official YouTube page, Billie Joe Armstrong strums some chords on his guitar before the camera slowly pans over to Vig, who greets the camera with his middle finger. The two songs we hear in the video are way too embryonic to evaluate or even guess which direction the follow-up to American Idiot will take, but at least we have confirmation the band is hard at work on their new album.
